SOMETHING TO TELL

When you start a project, you have the hope of capturing the best attributes of the category.

At Piola we wanted to make quality, functional and flexible backpacks and accessories to accompany you on trips or in your daily life. Along the way we realized that for us it was not enough to have a good product, the entire process behind it was also important.

The beginning was difficult. In Peru, more than 75% of textile work is informal, bringing legal issues, low standards, and what impacted us the most: the precarious working conditions and the little respect for seamstresses. We didn’t want to be part of that.

We studied every step of the production chain, identified the best practices we could adopt, and developed working models that worked for everyone. The goal was always focused on people and their needs.

Today, more than 25 people work at Piola. We have our own workshop, we’ve created home workshops for people who can’t neglect their families, and quality control and packaging are carried out by people over 65 years old. In addition, we’ve incorporated clear environmental care policies throughout our entire process.

Nuestro propósito es crear productos dentro de una cadena sana donde trabajadores y clientes se sientan felices con el producto final.
